First Road Trip

On November 11 to the 12 we went on our first over night family getaway. We drove down to Kalispell to do a little Christmas shopping, to just relax, and recharge. Nicholas did so well on the drive down. We did have to stop a couple times, once to feed him and another time 5 minutes later cause he was crying really hard and needed a cuddle.
Once in Kalispell we stopped at Target and Costco. I love shopping in the states, and those two places just happen to be my favorite places. We than checked into our hotel, where we relaxed for a little bit, fed Nicholas, and let him stretch for a little while.
We then went out to the HuHot Mongolian Grill. By far one of my favorite places to eat. I love stir fry, I would probably eat at the one in Lethbridge a lot more, but it is SO expensive. Any way, if you have never at at the HuHot you should. You pick your own meat, veggies, and sauce than watch as the guy at the grill cooks it up for you. It is also all you can eat!! I love that cause than Zac can have his fill and will actually eat some vegetables!!
That night after dinner, we went back to the hotel and took Nicholas swimming for the first time!! He wasn't quite sure what to think, but I think he liked it. The water was a bit chilly and we didn't stay long.
That night Nicholas slept horrible. It was a good thing we had a king sized bed, because he spent most of the night in it with us. He had slept a lot during the day with all the traveling so I wasn't that surprised that he didn't sleep well at night.
The next day we finished up our shopping, and than headed home. Nicholas slept from Kalispell all the way to Cardston. We stopped in Cardston to feed him and to change is bum. That kind of turned into a bit of a gong show. I feed him, than decided to change is bum. I had him on my lap, and while changing the diaper he started to poop! I hurried and put another diaper on him so that he could finish. We than sat in the chair for a while so he could finish. I started to change is diaper again, and it was one of the worst poopie diapers ever!! I took so many wipes!! I had the dirty diaper sitting on the dash while I finished dressing him, but it must not have been on the dash well enough because it feel and came crashing down hit Nick in the face and fell on the floor. Oh and then Nick decided it was a good time to puke all over. We were lucky with the diaper and only a couple dirty wipes fell out, which made for a much easier clean up. When we finally got everything, and everyone cleaned up we started on the way home again. Unfortunately Nicholas was done being in his car seat and cried/screamed for most of the ride home.
All in all, it was a pretty good trip and we will probably do something similar again. We got all of the Christmas shopping done, and were able to spend some time together with out any interruptions.

6 Week Check Up

On November 3, 2010 Nicholas had a really rough night and would only sleep if I was holding him. I was so tired so I laid in bed with him laying on top of me. I woke up that morning with a really sore spot on my boob and figured that I probably just had a plugged duct due to him laying on me all night. That day I tried every thing I could think of. I put heat on it, and tried to massage it out. Nothing helped. I was so tired that day, and was having a really hard time. It was on a Wednesday, which is one of Zac's longest days at school. Zac called to ask if I wanted to meet him at our friends house in Coalhurst so that he could see Nicholas and I during one of his breaks from school. I agreed and was so glad that I went. I was so cold the whole day, and didn't really think about it. That night I woke up to feed Nicholas and when I got back into bed I could not get warm, Zac put another blanket on me, and also made me take some tylenol. I woke up a couple hours later in a pool of sweat. In the morning I was still experiencing a lot of pain, and it was a lot more red. That afternoon I phoned and got in to see the Doctor (my step-mother works at the clinic I go to, so she got me in really quick). Sure enough I had mastitis, and I was put on antibiotics. While I was waiting to see the doctor the nurse came in and was asking me why I was there and what not. When I told her I thought I had mastitis, she got all preachy and told me that I would have to stop breast feeding, but I would have to pump and dump. I was so annoyed with her. I sat in the room for the next ten minutes getting so worked up, because I did not want to stop breast feeding, and was mad that she would even suggest that. When my doctor finally got to me he assured me that I could still feed him and put me on an antibiotic that was safe to use while nursing. I was pretty sore for the next couple of days but the antibiotics started working pretty fast, and I started to feel better.
On November 9, 2010 we had Nicholas 6 week check up!! At the appointment he weighed 13 pounds 3 ounces, and was 22.5 inches long. He is doing really well, and is pretty chunky. He has the sweetest rolls on his thighs! Every thing checked out at his appointment and we got more information about his inguinal hernia. Nicholas was born with a hernia on his right side. It was something that was missed in the hospital and wasn't noticed until one night when he was crying while getting his diaper changed and Zac noticed it. It's doesn't cause Nicholas any pain and we just watch it and occasionally have to push it back in, which is pretty easy. We did find out at our six week check that Nicholas might have another one on the other side. There is no way to confirm it expect by ultrasound. the only way to permanently fix this problem is to have surgery. When Nicholas is around six months old we will get the ultra sound, and referred to a Pediatric surgeon to get them fixed. I try not to think about it to much, because it freaks me out to think about my little 6 month old baby going in for surgery. He will still be so small. I know that it is something that needs to be done and that it will be fine. I'm just use to being on the other side of the situation, and I'm not sure how I feel about being the mom of a patient!!

Blessing Day- November 7, 2010

On November 7, 2010 we had the privilege of blessing Nicholas in church. Zac, along with Great Grandpa Brian Dudley, Grandpa Scott Erickson, Grandpa Bruce Fawns, Uncle Kevin Dudley, Tyler Dudley, and Bishop Greg Peterson stood in the circle. Zac gave Nicholas a wonderful blessing. I don't want to go into to many details of it because it is pretty special but I will mention one that really impressed, and stood out to me. Nicholas was blessed with humor and the ability to lighten others loads with smile and laughter. I can already see this being a blessing in our lives. There have been some nights when I am struggling getting Nicholas down for the night. It will be late, I'm tired and just about at breaking point when I will look down and Nicholas will give me the biggest smile ever. It just gives me the little boost I need to get through the night. Nicholas has already been a huge blessing in our lives and we love him so much!!
Following church we had our families over to our house for lunch. I cooked a ham, my mom made buns, Susie made funeral potatoes, and everyone else brought a salad or squares. It was a pretty awesome meal. We were expecting about 30 people but unfortunately a lot could not make it. The people who were here were: Zac, Hilary, Nicholas, Scott, Susie, Max, Amy, Marolee, Del, Great Grandma & Grandpa Dudley, Kevin, Monette, Brooke, Carson, Tyler and Erin. It was a really wonderful day, and we are so thankful for the support of family. We wished that more of my family could have made it but we know that they were thinking of us that day!
Nicholas was so well behaved that day, which was awesome, because there were a lot of people and noise.
Here are some pictures from that day. Nicholas was blessed wearing the same outfit that my nephew Mac wore at our wedding. It was a little big, but Nick looked pretty handsome!!

One Month Old!

Nicholas is officially one month old today!! It really doesn't seem like that long, but at the same time it seems like he has been here forever!! But I guess he kinda has been with us for longer than just a month!

For the most part Nicholas is a really good baby!! He nurses like a champ and has a really good appetite!! He weighs roughly 13 pounds!! Yup he is a big boy!! He has the chubbiest little cheeks, and his thighs are starting to get chunky!! He is wearing three month clothes, and fills them out pretty good!! (especially in length, not so much around the middle) He eats every 2.5 to 4 hours. For the last week he has had his nights and days mixed up, which means that at around 3 in the morning he is wide awake want to look around. Some nights its pretty frustrating, when all I can think about is crawling back into my nice warm bed. Zac is pretty helpful on these nights and will take a shift (if it occurs on a weekend) so that I can have a rest!! Most nights he will usually give me a good 4 hour stretch and sometimes a 3 hour stretch were I can get some sleep!

He absolutely loves his vibrating bouncy chair!! Every morning I put him in the chair in the bathroom, so that i can shower! He also likes the sound of the blow dryer. If he is fussy he usually settles when i start to blow dry my hair, but starts up again when I turn it off. this is great for me!! We have a swing for him, but it is hit and miss. On the days that he likes it, it is only for a very short time.

For the most part we have found that he loves just laying on the floor and stretching out in the evenings. We do tummy time with him, but he doesn't like it very much when it on the floor, but if i lay down on the couch and put him on my stomach he likes it much better and will raise his head!! He does pretty good at holding his head up and every day he is getting better, and lasting longer! He also likes to stand up, its so cute!! He will push up and stand for a little while but eventually just starts to squat!! For Christmas we are going to get him a free standing jolly jumper, I think that he will like it!!

He sleeps in our room, and some nights he ends up in bed with us! Which I said I would never do, but when he starts to cry and will only settle when I'm holding him I do it just so that I can get some sleep!! We have purchased a monitor and I am excited to get it so that we can start to put him in his own room at night. I think that I will sleep better, and hopefully he will too. We are just going to gradually do this, and if it doesn't work then he will probably stay in our room for a while longer.

He has such a cute little personality and I fall in love with him every day!! I love the way he gets so excited when it is time to eat and waves his head back and forth, then when he latches on he does this cute little giggle!! I love the way he sucks right into me, so close, when I'm feeding him!! I love that he already knows me as his mom! I love being able to know what he needs ( well for the most part)!! I love how he has started to do raspberries, although not so much a fan when he does it right after eating!! I just love being his mom!! I'm so excited to watch him grow and learn!! We love you Nicholas!!

Photo Shoot!

These pictures are from an impromptu photo shoot when Nick was 6 days old!! Thanks to Aunt Amy!! They turned out so cute and we love them!! We also love having a photographer in the family!! Can't wait for more photo shoots in the future!! The last picture is Nicholas's birth announcement/thank you card that we sent out to family and friends!!

Nicholas Evan Erickson

Is here!! I can't believe that he has been here for two weeks!! Some days it still feels surreal that he is here and that he is all ours! This has been the greatest, best, most exhausting, difficult, rewarding week of my life!! Nick is such a good baby! He has the sweetest, most kissable, chubby cheeks ever!! I could kiss them all day long!! (and I do!!) Zac has been so amazing through this experience, and is an awesome dad!! Nicholas loves him so much, it just melts my heart to see those two together!! Nicholas is already so spoiled!! There are so many people who just love him to pieces and I feel very blessed that he gets to have so many amazing people in his life!! He has three sets of grandparents, one set of great grandparents, and a Great grandma!! Needless to say if I'm not kissing those cheeks one of his grandparents are!!

Alright here is the story of Nicholas's arrival:

On Thursday, September 23 I got up to go the the bathroom about 4:30am, when I sat down I felt a gush but couldn't decide if it was me peeing or if it was really my water breaking. When I stood up I felt another gush so I knew it must be my water breaking. I went back to bed and laid there for a couple minutes contemplating whether to wake Zac up or not. I wasn't having any contractions so I didn't want to wake Zac up if nothing was going on. I finally woke him up and decided that I was going to go have a shower and do my hair!! When I got out of the shower we called Lethbridge to find out if we should head in or not. They told us they wanted us to head in so that they could monitor the baby for a while to make sure that everything was going ok.
We arrived at the hospital at 6:00am and the nurse put me on the monitor. She also confirmed that my water had broken because there was amniotic fluid on the pad I was wearing. I stayed on the monitors for about an hour because my blood pressure was really high and they were worried. At 7:00am I got a new nurse assigned to me and she was very skeptical that my water had broke because I was still not contracting. Finally at about 8 Dr. Stewart came to see me. They performed a test called amnio-sure, and checked me. I was only 1-2cm. The amnio test came back positive, (although the nurse still didn't want to believe it!) but because there was no contractions Dr. Stewart said to go home and relax and to come back at 4:00pm if I was still not contracting, or if I did start contracting to come back sooner.

That morning I came home, had a nap, and relaxed. It was a really strange feeling knowing that I was finally going to be having this baby!! Zac and I ate lunch, then went for a walk to his mom's house to see if walking would start anything. But nothing!! Finally we headed into Lethbridge. We arrived back on Labour and Delivery at about 4:30 and got set up in a delivery room. They hooked me up to the monitors, started and at 5:00 they started me on oxytocin because I was still not having regular contractions (maybe one every 30-60mins). The first hour of oxytocin there was not any really change, the contractions were coming more regular but not that painful. The next hour was complete torture!! The contractions started coming pretty fast, they were lasting 60-90 seconds and were about one minute apart. It was really hard to stay focused because I wasn't getting much of a break to regroup. At 7:15pm I finally got an epidural!! Best decision ever!! After the epidural I was pretty comfortable and was able to have a little bit of a rest!! I dilated really fast and by 9:30 I was 9 1/2 centimeters, and by 10:30 I was ready to start pushing, or rather the nurses were ready for me to start pushing. I never felt the need to push. I pushed for 2 hours and at 12:30 am on September 24, Little Nicholas arrived!! It was so awesome to finally have him there with us!! He weighed in at 8 pounds 3 ounces, and was 20.5 inches long. We spent the next day in the hospital, with tons of visitors!! Grandma and Grandpa Erickson, and Uncle Max were the first to come and meet Nick. Grandma Susie gave Nicholas his first bath!! Other visitors that day were Devany, Aunt Amy, Grandpa and Grandma Fawns, Grandma Marolee, and Heather. Needless to say that the first day was not very restful for me, but that's okay because I'm pretty sure I was still having a bit of adrenaline running through my veins!!

We were discharged from the hospital Saturday morning. Zac and I enjoyed a very relaxing first day at home with Nicholas. We sure do love him a lot and are sure glad that he is here safe and sound!!

36 Weeks!!

That's right people I am officially 36 weeks pregnant!! Sometimes it feels like it is going by so fast, and other times I feel like I have been pregnant forever and can't remember not being pregnant!!
This last week Amy ,my sister-in-law, took some maternity pictures of me. I thought it was a good idea but then after looking at some I realized just how HUGE I am. She did do an amazing job, and I can't wait for the baby to get here so that she can take some shots of him!! I think that I will enjoy that a whole lot more!

Zac and I also finished our prenatal classes! Every thing is falling into place for this baby, and I am getting so excited!! I just hope that he hurries up and gets here already!! Come on baby!! I worked by last shift last night, so now I just get to relax and work on some project, and play the waiting game!! I have a doctors appointment this week and I am hoping that there is some progress!! Maybe wishful thinking, but whatever gets my through the next couple weeks, right?! My mother in law keeps telling me that as soon as I reach 38 weeks that I should start self inducing!! First on her list is castor oil!! I am not totally sold on the idea as of yet, but I guess we will see what the next two weeks brings, and how desperate I am!! I have enjoyed my pregnancy so far, and for the most part have felt fairly well. Just lately I am starting to feel quite huge, and am having trouble getting comfortable!! It has become easier to get out of bed and then get back in to change position then to just roll over!! Which isn't that big of an inconvenience considering I have to get up several times through out the night to use the bathroom!
Zac has been pretty awesome throughout this pregnancy and I couldn't have asked for a better husband! He has really picked up the slack when it comes to cooking, laundry, and cleaning!! I have been working a lot this summer so that I could get in my hours to qualify for maternity benefits, which means that I am always tired and not very good when it comes to helping out!! Zac is such a great husband, and he is going to be an awesome father!! This little boy is going to be so lucky!! Heres hoping we get to meet him soon, and that he doesn't come during mid-terms!! That would make Zac a lot less worried!! I am just hoping that he comes before Thanksgiving!!

I have been trying to upload pictures for the last hour with no luck, so another post with out. sorry

Peach Jam!!

For the last couple of summers I have had the itch to do some canning. Unfortunately, I never did because of work or never the right opportunity. However this summer my mom graciously offered to help me!! One afternoon I went over to her house and we whipped up a batch of peach jam!! It was really easy, and something that I will probably do again!! Next summer I really want to can some peaches and pears, and possibly make some crab apple jelly!! I would of loved to do it this summer but unfortunately I don't think that my body would of appreciated it!!

I only had about 15 peaches and this is how much jam it made!! I guess we will be eating peach jam for a while!!

Random Story!!

So a couple weeks ago, Zac and I stopped at Tim Hortons to grab some breakfast before making our way up to the Williams Family Reunion. I was standing in line patiently waiting my turn when this random old lady came up to me and put her hand on my shoulder and said "Its a girl"! My first thoughts were who the heck are you, and why are you touching me?! So I looked at her and said "Ah, no it's a boy". Random lady "Oh really? When are you due?" Me "Beginning of October" Random lady " Oh well, you are looking really great."
By the end of the conversation I didn't know if I wanted to punch her for touching me, or hug her for telling me I looked good!! Any way I just thought that I would record that little story cause it has been my only weird encounter so far.

June and July!!

Alright so I thought I would do better at this whole blogging thing, but as you can tell I haven't. Here it is two months since my last update. I would like to say that I have been busy vacationing and doing really fun stuff, but the truth is that all I have been doing is working!! I guess thats what happens when you are trying to cram a lot of hours into a short amount of time so that I can qualify for maternity benefits!!
The exciting news is that I only have 5 shifts left of work!!! Yeah I am pretty exciting!! I can't wait until September cause I have a date set up with my couch and Grey's Anatomy!! I also have a couple little projects that I am need to get down before baby comes. Nothing really to exciting just a pillow case for a nursing pillow, and now that I think about it I guess thats really it for now.
So baby update: I am now 33 weeks!! Less then 7 weeks left (hopefully) until I get to see this little guy!! I had a second ultrasound at 28 weeks and every thing checked out really good. He was measuring the right size and is still a boy!! The only thing that we learned is that he has a huge head!! (like father, like son I guess). His body measured 29 weeks and his head measured 32!! Yikes!! Hopefully my doctor won't make me go over, or else I will have a hard time with that size of head!!(Curse you Erickson genes)!!
He is a big mover, but is pretty good about not digging up in my ribs!! He likes to lay on my right side in the same position, so then I feel most of his kicks and jabs on my left side. Every once in a while he sticks his little bum up and its pretty cute. We have been taking prenatal classes for the last few weeks and it has been beneficial (well some of it). I think that Zac feels a little bit better about what he can do to help during labor, or what he can expect. this week we go on a tour of the Labor and Delivery Suites and also learn how to check in.
At the end of the month Zac and I are finally going away for a little summer vacation. Nothing to big, but we are pretty excited!! We are going to Calgary to do a little back to school shopping, and while there are going to take in Body Worlds at the Telus Science Center. They are having a special exhibit on the bran and that is right up Zac's alley!! I am pretty excited too!! The next night we are going to a Fireworks show. Its an event called Global Fest!! I had never heard of it before, but a girl at work told me about it so Zac look in to it. Joel and Kayleigh are going to join us for the two day vacation!! I am getting really excited!!
This summer we also spent a little time up in Waterton with the Dudley family!! I was only there for a short time, because I had to work, but Zac was up there for a little longer and had a really fun time. We also celebrated Grandma and Grandpa Dudley's 50th wedding anniversary!!
Then the second weekend in august we headed up to a Williams reunion. It is always a good time. Lots of food, fun, and card playing!! The only crappy part this year was that my little nephew Mac was sick (puking and such), I never thought much about it until on the way home when it hit me. Zac had to pull over on the side of the road a couple time for me to vomit, that was sunday morning and I never stopped vomiting all day Sunday, and all night Sunday. I was so sore, my stomach muscles hurt so bad. Zac finally made me go up to the ER on Monday morning because he was pretty worried about the baby! I got some fluids they have me some Maxeran and then I came home. I was able to eat a little that day, but it took me until Wednesday before I felt a 100% better!
Other than that little episode I have been feeling really great!! I am getting bigger and am having a harder time rolling over in bed, and putting socks on. I am looking forward to the day when I can reach my feet and also can wear my normal clothes!! Not to much longer.
any way thats it for me for now.

May in a nut shell!!

Its really late, I should be in bed, but here I am blogging!

Here in short is what I have been up to the last month:
  • Work. I thought that after I was finished school that I would get a little bit of a break to relax, but of course things did not work out that way. Between Cardston and Raymond I am keeping pretty busy. So busy that the month of June is here before I am quite ready for it. The CRNE is on Wednesday. EEEK!! Hopefully all goes well. I will know in 6-8 weeks!
  • On May 20th we went for your ultrasound!! It was a pretty fun experience!! We found out that we are expecting a BOY!! We are pretty excited!! Now on to painting the baby's room, and getting that set up!
  • I also had to go for the Gestational Diabetes Test, because at my last appointment I had sugar in my urine. I was really nervous for the results to come back, but everything came back within normal ranges. Thank goodness!!
  • This week we finally hang pictures up in the new house!! It only took us over a month, I guess thats what happens when you have opposite schedules!
  • On May 24th Zac and I celebrated our second anniversary!! Zac worked, and I was going to nights, so we didn't do much. We went out of lunch, and thats about it!! We are planning on going to Great Falls for a couple day in June. I really want to go shopping!! And of course spend some time with Zac!!
  • Lately I have been feeling the baby move more and more!! I love it!! The other night I was at work and decided to get the doppler and listen to the heart beat!! It was an awesome sound nice and strong at 144 bpm. I made him really made when I was poking around trying to find the rate, he kicked the doppler so hard, and then was squirming around so that it took a while to find the rate!! It was pretty cute!!
  • Today and tomorrow I am franticly studying so that I am hopefully prepared for my exam. I feel alright after today. I didn't do so bad on the practice exam, so lets hope that I continue to do well.
Well about covers May!! Hopefully June is a little less hectic!!

Moving Day!!

Zac and I moved into your new house on Monday!! We are so excited to be here! The house is huge, clean, has a dishwasher, has more than 2 places to be, and has walking room around the bed!! I will post pictures as soon as I have all the finishing touches done, such as hanging pictures and putting trinkets out!!
I just thought for my benefit that I would blog about the move. We were very luck to have Zac's family here to help us.
I had worked nights for three nights before the move. Monday morning I got home around 8:00 crawled into bed and slept until 11:30. Mean while, Zac and his mom busily moved stuff out of the garage, and started in the house. I started to help when I got up, well I started to throw some stuff into some boxes because that is all that they would allow me to do. We moved for all of the morning, in the afternoon Zac's grandparents came to help. I have never felt so useless as I did when I saw Grandma and Grandpa Dudley moving our dresser into the house. Anyway I wasn't being much help so I decided to walk the block to my mom's house to borrow some dishwasher soap. Zac decided that he didn't want to do dishes at the old house so he moved the dirty ones over to the new house. I wasn't trilled about it put figured might as well just get them done. Any way, I walked to my mom's house but when I got there she wasn't there. I turned around and started walking down here drive way. She had her big 5th wheel parked in the drive way, and I thought that I was past it so I turned and ran right into it. I hit my head so hard. I was so embarrassed. To make matters worse, my mom's neighbor was walking down the street and saw it all happen. I didn't want to stop and say anything so I just walked back to the house. When I got there my head was hurting so bad, so I told Zac what happened and he looked at my head and started laughing. I had a huge goose egg of a bump on my forehead. Well through out the rest of the night I think I hit my head a couple more times. When I am tired my depth perception is alway off and I always hurt myself.
We finished moving around 7:30 that night and took everyone to subway for supper. We then headed home to bed. I thought I would sleep like a baby as I only had a couple hours of sleep that day. I however woke up at 1 am ready to go for the day. I was not impressed as I had to work at 7 am. I tossed and turned then finally my alarm clock went off and I got ready to go to work.
I finally finished unpacking on Wednesday, and now that there aren't any boxes I absolutely love our new place!! Not that I thought I wouldn't. I still have some boxes and organizing to do in the basement but I don't see it every day so its not as big of priority for me.
I still have to go back to the old house and clean it. which I am not looking forward to doing. I know that it wont be as bad as I think it will, its just getting over there and doing it. So tomorrow after work my plan is to go over and get it done. I wish that Zac would be around to help, but conveniently he is studying for finals and working on papers!! Well he probably just get in my way any way!! (I love you, honey!!)
Well that is it for me for tonight!! Stay tuned for pictures of the new place!

oh yeah, i forgot to mention that we got your crib and set it up!! It pretty exciting!! I will have to post pictures of that too!!

Heart Beat

Today I had a check up at the doctors and we got to hear the heart beat for real this time. It was pretty awesome, and some what of a relief to me. It was the sweet sound of 160 beats per minute. We also got to schedule your first ultrasound!! I am super excited for that and can't wait to find out what we are having!! 15 weeks down, 25 more to go!!

Practicum

I only have 17 more shifts left before I am officially done nursing school. I am getting really excited, but I am worried about finding a job. right now though I choose to focus only on the fact that I am over half done, that there is only 3 weeks left, and then I will finally get a break of more than 2 days off!!

Baby time!

Well seeing how the big news has been spilled I guess I will update on my pregnancy.
Zac and I are expecting your first baby. The due date is October 3. We are pretty excited, Zac a little more than me!! haha!! So far everything has been going pretty well. I am having the occasional morning sickness, sometimes in the morning, sometimes at night.
We have gone to your first two prenatal visits, and so far everything is going accordingly. Last appointment, when I was ten weeks, we heard the baby's heart beat. That was really exciting. It was pretty faint, so we are looking forward to the next appointment when it will be a little louder.
I am pretty tired all the time, but I think it is because I have been working pretty much non-stop trying to get in all of my practicum hours.
I am now 11+ weeks. We are looking forward to being parents, but I am a little nervous to be responsible for a little thing. Usually when a baby cries I just give them back to the parent, but that is going to be me!! Yikes!
I sure every thing will be fine, I have a lot of good support, and my sisters will hopefully give me lots of good advice and help. any way, I will try to update here more so that I record what is happening throughout the pregnancy.

Hawaii!!

Ok so I realize that is has been close to a month since we went to Hawaii, but i figure I better update any way.
The trip started on Friday afternoon when we all packed up, loaded into the truck and headed to Great Falls. We slept for a few short hours then went to the Airport to head to Denver. The plane from Great Falls to Denver was the sketchiest little plane ever, Zac and I sat right in the back, it was really loud!! We had a bit of a lay over in Denver then headed to L.A. from there we ran to catch our flight to Hawaii!!
On the way there the crew play a game to guess what time we will reach the half way mark. Well my guess was 12 seconds off, another guy was only 9. dang it!! Any way I got a complementary bottle of wine!! We gave it to this cute little Japanese guy who was so happy!!
My first thoughts of Hawaii were wow its not as hot as I thought it would be, and man moist air is so wonderful!! (especially coming from dry ol' southern alberta!)
From the airport we had about an hour drive to the Beach House. It wouldn't have been a bad ride, but we were all tired, jet-lagged, covered with travel dirt, and squished into a little place!! Its surprising how much luggage 6 people can pack!!
some of the things we did there were visit the Temple, the Campus (we went to food fest the first night there), the PCC, Dole Plantation, numerous beaches, Fumi's Shrimp, and ate lots of shaved ice!!
Hawaii is absolutely beautiful. It was so fun relaxing, hanging out, getting a sun tan, sleeping, and eating. It was especially sweet, cause I only felt sick a couple times, thank goodness!!
The trip home was however not so fun. I got really sick on the first flight and managed to fill a couple those motion sickness bags, in fact we had a celebration on the last flight cause I managed not to throw up. Well Hopefully that is not to much information. We are glad to be back home, but wish that we can go back soon.

350 hours

The only thing that stands between me and the end of the nursing program!! I am pretty darn excited!! I am anxious to start my preceptorship, but can't wait to start lowering those hours!!
I hope that every thing goes well these next couple of weeks, and if they don't who cares because I will be in Hawaii for some wonderful RnR!!
